Sample itinerary for a two night residential stay in Northern France :
Day 1 - Journey, Maréis and settling in
Depart your school by coach for Folkestone. Embarkation on the Eurotunnel and Channel crossing. Disembarkation in Coquelles. Depart for Etaples. Picnic lunch (not included in tariff).Then, depart for “Maréis” : the true-to-life staging of the whole exhibition immerses you in the world of today’s fishermen. Guided tour of the complex by a professional of the sea. Depart for your residential centre for dinner. Room allocation and full board accommodation in multi-bedrooms.
Day 2 - Local market, environmental workshop and circus workshop
Depart your residential centre for the local market where the children will have a questionnaire to complete. Return to the centre for lunch. In the afternoon, pupils will study low-water marks at the natural reserve of the Estuary of the Canche : unexpected treasures. This activity is divided into two parts: signs of marine life, human pollution. Pupils will collect different things to illustrate those two parts and they will study them with the instructor. Depart by coach for a circus workshop where the children will learn to juggle, balance on a tightrope or a ball, learn the trapeze and the art of being a clown !
Return by coach to your residential centre for dinner.
Day 3 - Local supermarket and bakery
After breakfast, depart for the supermarket Auchan in Boulogne for shopping with language exercises. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, depart your residential centre by coach to visit a bakery to see bread and cakes being made in a traditional French way. Make your own “croissant” and leave with a “baguette” and “un croissant” for each child at the end of the visit. Then, depart by coach for Coquelles. Embarkation on board the Eurotunnel and Channel crossing. Arrival in Folkestone and direct transfer to your home town.
