Suggested itinerary for a 4 night homestay in Bonn, Germany.
Day 1 : Depart your home town to Dover. Embarkation and Channel crossing. Overnight travel by coach across Belgium towards Germany, with appropriate stops. (Alternatively, flight to Bonn booked by school)
Day 2 : Breakfast and lunch en route (included in the standard tariff) and travel by coach to Bonn. Arrival in Bonn early in the evening and introduction to host families. Full board accommodation.
Day 3 : Morning visit of Bonn town centre, taking in Beethoven's birthplace and the 12th century Romanesque Cathedral. Pic-nic lunch. In the afternoon, specific visit such as the Bundeshaus, the Parliament, or the Rhineland museum. Free time and return to host families at the end of the afternoon.
Day 4 : Depart Bonn for Köln, one of the biggest towns in Germany. Guided tour with a stop at the Gothic Cathedral and the Alter Markt quarter. Pic-nic lunch. In the afternoon, local inquiry. In this session, the students will be at different points around the town centre to question the local inhabitants about a range of topics previously decided in collaboration with the teachers in charge of the group. Free time for shopping in the Hohestrasse and return to Bonn at the end of the afternoon.
Day 5 : Depart Bonn for a boat trip on the Rhine from Rudesheim to Goarshausen, taking in the ""Loreley"", the legendary rock and the symbol of Romance on the Rhine. Pic-nic lunch. Depart in the afternoon for a trip in the 'Eifelberg' with a stop at Kommern. Visit of the Freilichtmuseum, with its display of half-timbered houses at various stages of construction. Then a demonstration of glass blowing in the village of Bad Munstereifel. Return to Bonn at the end of the afternoon.
Day 6 : Free time in Bonn. Picnic lunch. Depart Bonn by coach for the homeward journey. Pic-nic lunch provided by host families. Travel overnight to Channel port.
Day 7 : Arrival in Channel port. Embarkation and Channel crossing. Disembarkation in England, and travel by coach to your home town.
